QS BRICS countries university ranking: Mordovia State University is among Top 200 universities

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has presented the results of the third annual ranking of universities. Evaluation of universities was based on eight criteria: opinion of the academic community, employers, the ratio of faculty members and students, the percentage of scientific papers per teaching staff, the citation index, the proportion of international teaching staff to domestic one, the proportion of international students to domestic ones, the proportion of teachers holding a scientific degree to those without a degree.

The ranking focuses on indicators that reflect the principles intrinsic to Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (known as BRICS countries) and emphasize the strengths of the higher education systems in these countries.

As of current year Mordovia State University is among the top 200 universities of the BRICS countries, on par with best 53 Universities of the Russian Federation. The QS rankings are shaped on interviews with academic community and industry representatives. In this year’s survey 55 887 academics and 8 201 employers were interviewed.
