Faculty of Economics hosts the EU Round table discussion devoted to broadening financial and legal awareness among high school and university students

On 21 of October Ogarev Mordovia State University together with Faculty of Economics opened the round table entitled «Financial and legal knowledge as a basis for success». The round table is supported by the European Union, Jean Monnet programme (Lifelong Learning Programme), which aims at the study and development of European integration in the field of education.

Bringing financial and legal literacy to young people seeks to establish a direct link between the theoretical knowledge and their practical application; to provide help in understanding and using financial information at the current moment and in the future, guidance&awareness throughout life and life strategies of the participants, educating the responsibility for financial decisions with regard to personal safety and well-being.

The EU project «Lifelong education without dimension: opportunities in the Russian-European integration (LED)» will be implemented during 3 years between 2015 – 2017. The round table is the first key event among the range of project activities. It will be held during 4 days. To attend a round table discussion the following categories of participants are invited: teaching staff and scholars, graduate students, postgraduate students, undergraduate students from higher academic institution and vocational educational institutions, as well as representatives of state and local authorities, public organisations, business entities, private business. The event will be attended by 150 participants including prominent scholars from Belarus, Russian leading universities of Saint Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod.

The round table explores the following topical issues: Lifelong education: problems and prospects; Problems of enhancing legal and financial literacy for the sustainable development; Financial and legal knowledge as a basis for economic safety; Financial and legal knowledge as a prerequisite for personality evolvement, Lifelong education as condition for social mobility caused by Russian-European integration; Information technologies in teaching financial and legal issues.
