Mordovia State University hosts international series of workshops entitled «Mathematical modeling, numerical methods and software systems»

On July 16, National Research Ogarev Mordovia State University opened the VIII international scientific youth school-workshop "Mathematical modeling, numerical methods and software systems" dedicated to the memory of a famous local scholar Evgeny V. Voskresensky.

The opening was attended by the Deputy Director of Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics, corresponding member of Russian Academy of Sciences V. F. Tishkin (Moscow), Vice-Rector for science and research – Petr V. Senin, Mordovia State University, Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology – Ivan I. Chuchaev, Mordovia State University. All speakers emphasized the importance of the event for the maturing of young scholars, serving as a platform and springboard for streamlining their scientific career.

The workshop brings together leading and young scholars from Saransk, Penza, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Sarov, Perm, Arkhangelsk, Ulyanovsk, Ufa, Moscow, St. Petersburg, as well as Basel (Switzerland), Dhi Qar (Iraq), Warsaw (Poland) and Sofia (Bulgaria).

The arrangement will offer 4 thematic workshops: «Principles of formulation of mathematical models», «Numerical implementation of algorithms of mathematical models», «Qualitative methods of analysis of mathematical models», «Software packages and high-performance computing» and complete on 21 July. Lectures for young scientists will be delivered by leading professors of mathematics: V.F. Tishkin, E.B. Kuznetsov and V.Z. Grines, I.P. Ryazantseva, Yu.N. Deryugin, P.A. Vel'misov, V.K. Gorbunov.
