Economics Faculty launches a continuing education course «Design of educational programs: integration of experience of European and Russian universities»

Faculty of Economics of Ogarev Mordovia State University launched trials of a further education course titled «Design of educational programs: integration of experience of European and Russian universities» developed within the framework of international project «Excellence in Engineering Education through Teacher Training and New Pedagogic Approaches in Russia and Tajikistan (EXTEND), action «Capacity Building in the Field of Higher Education Erasmus+».

The EXTEND project has been implemented since 2017 in partnership with leading European and Russian universities, as well as Tajikistan universities. The consortium consists of: Minho University (Portugal), Riga Technical University (Latvia), University of Warwick (Great Britain), Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, G.I. Nosov Magnitogorsk State Technical University, Tajik National University, Khujand State University, Technological University of Tajikistan, A. Rudaki Kulyab State University. The project coordinator is University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest (Romania).

The objective of the developed course is to enhance the level of knowledge and foster professional competencies of teaching staff in design of educational programs fortified by project-based and practice-oriented approaches, as well as the use of active learning strategies based on the integration of the experience of European and Russian universities.

The course is delivered in a mixed format. Among the participants are 43 teachers of Russian universities, representing the Higher School of Economics, the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, the Russian State University for the Humanities, Moscow University of Finance and Law, V.G. Timiryasov Kazan Innovative University, Saransk Consumer Cooperatives Institute, affiliated branch of Russian University of Cooperation, as well as representatives of the Institute of Electronics and Light Engineering and the Faculty of Economics of Mordovia State University.

During two weeks, learners will be looking into the key design concepts of educational programs implemented by European universities; will be consolidating knowledge and skills in the application of active learning strategies and ICT tools. Special attention will be paid to the possibilities of keying the project approach to the educational process, practice-oriented training, as well as to approaches facilitative of formation of universal competencies, aspects of leadership and team building.
