MRSU INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS VISIT THE MORDOVIAN REPUBLIC FINE ARTS MUSEUM NAMED AFTER S.D. ERZIA. In the context introducing international students to the ancient Mordovian civilization and the tourist places in Saransk, the International relations office at the MRSU university organized a visit to the the Mordovian Republic Fine Arts Museum named after S.D. Erzia.

Nearly 100 students from 30 countries attended the event. The international students expressed their great happiness to participate in this visit, which is a great opportunity to learn about one of the most famous Erzya- Mordvin sculptor, Stefan Erzia.
3.jpgIn his welcoming speech, the First Deputy Minister of Culture, National Policy and Archival Affairs of the Republic of Mordovia Mr. Alexander Kargin expressed his happiness to meet international students, who constitute an important part of the city’s population today.

The Vice-Rector for International cooperation affairs Mr. Dennis Filitkin stressed that the university continues to organize many events for international students in all fields in order to familiarize students more with the culture of the Republic of Modovia and to support students in their academic journey in Russia.
6.jpgThe Mordovian Republic Fine Arts Museum named after S.D. Erzia is one of the dynamically developing cultural and educational centres of the Republic of Mordovia, the Volga Region and Russia. The museum collection is based upon the sculptures by Stepan Erzia, a world-known artist, the pictures by Fedot Sychkov, a remarkable painter, Ilya Repin’s pupil, the collection of Russian art of the 19th and the 20th centuries, the works of modern artists, folk and applied arts.
