On June 10, MRSU launched the International Gynecological Oncology Week (EAFO GYNONC WEEK). The Conference is a joint project of the Eurasian Federation of Gynecological Oncology, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Mordovia and our university.
Around 300 scientists from India, Moscow, Petersburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod came to the symposium to consider and discuss the issues of this disease, hold master classes, seminars, round tables in medical areas and discuss the scientific and practical results of the forum.
Galina Lotvanova was opened The event. The First Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Mordovia noted the importance of the event and thanked her colleagues from India for their assistance in organizing the conference.

Then on behalf of the rector of MRSU Mr. Alexander Davydkin addressed the audience. According to the vice-rector for scientific work and research, the university could not miss such a global and serious event.

The Minister of Health of Mordovia noted that a good tradition of organizing International, All-Russian, and regional conferences has developed in the republic in recent years. According to Oleg Markin, they help the medical community to expand their «knowledge horizons» and strengthen international relations.
The topic of the first plenary lecture was the report «Past and Future of Oncogynecology» by the head of the «Oncogynecology» direction. Professor of the Department of Oncology, Radiation Therapy and Radiation Diagnostics of the Volga Research Medical University spoke about the history of the disease in Russia, presented a comparative analysis of the development and statistical data of this scientific direction in European countries.
Mr.Subramanian Somasundaram, founder and director of the Eurasian Oncology Federation (EAFO) and ANO Scientific and Educational Center Eurasian Cancer Program EAFO, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped organize the Week of Oncogynecology in Mordovia.

The events of the EAFO GYNONC WEEK will last until June 16.
