THE FEDERATION COUNCIL AWARDED THE WINNERS OF THE READING CONTEST «VICTORY IN THE HEARTS OF GENERATIONS»

On June 13, the Federation Council hosted the awarding ceremony for the winners of the IV Recitation Competition among students and graduate students fr om Asian and African countries «Victory in the Hearts of Generations». 40 contestants received diplomas, among them students from Syria, China and Tajikistan.3ucL81WY5AU.jpg

The competition is organized by the Youth Sector under the Russian Committee of Solidarity and Cooperation with the Peoples of Asia and Africa (RCSCAA). In total, about 500 applications from almost 100 Russian universities were received. The participants recorded and sent videos wh ere they recited poems by heart. Among the works chosen by the contestants are poetry about the great patriotic war by Anna Akhmatova, Konstantin Simonov, Andrei Dementyev, Bulat Okudzhava.

Mirzazhonov Utkirbek, a student of the Faculty of Philology of MRSU, took the second place with the poem «Wait for me and I’ll be back.». Alina Gromova, assistant professor of the department of Russian as a foreign language, instructed our student and helped him. In here welcoming speech, Alina Grmova noted that the Russian language, Russian literature and poetry bring together representatives of different countries.

Ilyas Umakhanov, First Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education and Culture, also emphasized the significance of the competition. «We want you to be closer to each other through Russian culture, literature, poetry and realize that the Russian language is part of world culture,» said Ilyas Umakhanov.
The event was also attended by Alexander Polyakov, Deputy Director of the Africa Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Igor Martynov, Senior Advisor of the Department of the Middle East and North Africa of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Natalya Khalturina, Secretary General of the RKSSNAA, and Yekaterina Bolgova, Head of the RKSSNAA Staff.
