The first Russian language classes have officially begun for students of the SRM Institute of Science and Technology at the Russian Studies Center (India- Chennai)! Our students have already mastered the alphabet, and their shining eyes are a testament to their enthusiasm and interest in this beautiful language. There’s so much more to discover, and we can’t wait for the amazing journey ahead! This new Center is set to enhance educational collaboration between India and Russia, offering Russian language courses, cultural workshops, lectures on literature, history, art, and more, along with guidance for students interested in studying in Russia.

MORDOVIAN SCIENTISTS HAVE CREATED A BUILDING MATERIAL BASED ON WASTE FROM MULTI-LAYER PACKAGING
Scientists at MRSU, have developed a polymer composition that includes recycled polyethylene and TetraPak multilayer packaging waste (multilayer packaging of products made of cardboard, foil and polyethylene). The presented material will be useful to enterprises in the construction industry and furniture production and can be used to create floor and wall coverings, paving slabs, furniture facades and partitions. Compared with analogues, the development has improved elastic-strength characteristics — increased strength, tensile modulus of elasticity of products and a 2−3 times reduction in cost due to the reuse of waste. «To produce the material, low-density polyethylene is melted at a temperature of 150 °C. Then shredded TetraPak packaging waste with a particle size of less than 400 microns is introduced and mixed with polyethylene. The resulting mixture is unloaded into a tray and cooled to room temperature,» commented Anton Kuzmin, Ph.D., Associate Professor of the Department of Mechanization of Agricultural Products Processing at the Institute of Mechanics and Energy. Currently, to recycle multi-layer TetraPak packaging, researchers are using sophisticated technologies that separate it into aluminum, cardboard and polyethylene. The method of MRSU scientists is more accessible and simple and can significantly facilitate the process of exploitation of this type of waste. «The use of recycled materials is one of the steps towards reducing production costs, efficient consumption of resources and improving the environmental situation. For example, the invention of scientists from our university can be used for the production of products for engineering and technical purposes, which will create conditions for the conscious use of polyethylene and TetraPak packaging,»noted the Rector of MRSU University Mr. Dmitry Glushko. The work was carried out within the strategic project «New Generation Materials and Energy Saving» of the «Priority 2030» program.
