Moscow, Russia — In a milestone visit, a delegation fr om India’s SRM University met with Pavel Shevtsov, Deputy Head of Rossotrudnichestvo, to discuss collaborative opportunities that could strengthen educational and cultural ties between India and Russia. This visit, the first by SRM University representatives to Russia, signifies the deepening relationship between SRM and its partner institution, Mordovia State University (MRSU).

While Mordovia State University has made several visits to SRM University in Chennai, this reciprocal visit will allow the Indian delegation to tour Mordovia State University in Saransk, with plans to explore its laboratories, cultural centers, sports facilities, and more.

Dmitry Glushko, Rector of Mordovia State University, emphasized the importance of ongoing collaboration between the institutions, noting the recent establishment of a Russian Language and Culture Center in Chennai. This center, inaugurated on September 16, was a joint effort between SRM University and Mordovia State University, with support from Rossotrudnichestvo’s Chennai office.

«The development of educational collaboration between Russian and Indian universities plays a crucial role in enhancing the strategic partnership between our nations,» stated Shevtsov. «The Russian Language and Culture Center at SRM in Chennai embodies the spirit of mutual interest and cooperation, a sentiment we will continue to foster through academic exchanges, joint scientific projects, and cultural initiatives.»

The Indian delegation’s itinerary includes an official visit to Saransk tomorrow, wh ere they will engage with Mordovia State University’s academic leadership, students, and local enterprises. This visit is expected to further solidify the academic and cultural ties between the two nations, building on an already strong foundation of educational cooperation.
