ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS BEGIN AT THE JOINT RUSSIAN-CHINESE INSTITUTE

On October 13, entrance examinations for master’s degree programmes were held as part of the Joint Educational Institute established by Jiangsu University of Science and Technology and Ogarev Mordovia State University (MRSU).

A total of 40 applicants took part in the examinations, applying for two master’s degree programmes:

  • 11.04.02 — Infocommunication Technologies and Communication Systems, specialisation in Infocommunication Technologies;

  • 03.04.02 — Physics, specialisation in Photonics and Information Systems.

All 40 applicants successfully passed the entrance examinations.

The Joint Educational Institute of Jiangsu University of Science and Technology and Ogarev Mordovia State University is a Russian-Chinese educational project offering dual-degree programmes. Students who meet the academic requirements of both universities receive degrees from both the Russian and Chinese institutions.

Despite the relatively short period since the project’s launch, significant progress has already been achieved. The Ministry of Education of China has officially approved the establishment of the Joint Institute, the regulatory and contractual framework has been developed, and cooperation agreements have been signed for five joint educational programmes: three bachelor’s degree programmes and two master’s degree programmes. New academic specialisations have also been introduced, and training programmes have been developed to prepare teaching staff for work in an international academic environment.

The launch of entrance examinations on the Russian side marks another important milestone, bringing the project from the organisational stage closer to full-scale educational operations.

We would like to thank the examination boards, university institutes and faculties, and all colleagues who contributed to the preparation and successful organisation of the examinations. The coordinated efforts of both universities are essential to the continued development of the Joint Institute and the implementation of its educational mission.
