I ALL-RUSSIAN STUDENT SPORTS FESTIVAL FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS CONCLUDES IN SARANSK

From October 15 to 19, Ogarev Mordovia State University hosted the First All-Russian Student Sports Festival for International Students, bringing together athletes from nine Russian universities.

Over five days, participants competed in seven sports disciplines — mini-football, cricket, table tennis, badminton, chess, the 4×200 m relay, and tug-of-war.

The festival proved especially successful for the Ogarev Mordovia State University team, which won first place in the overall standings and earned medals in six out of seven events. A historic highlight was the team’s gold medal in cricket — the first in the university’s history.

Beyond the competitions, the festival became a vibrant platform for friendship, cultural exchange, and integration among international students studying in Russia. Participants left Saransk with new experiences, friendships, and vivid memories — and a strong desire to return for future events.

Such events not only promote friendship and mutual understanding among students from different countries, but also help them become more familiar with Russian culture and the traditions of our republic.
