On January 29, 2025, MRSU hosted the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Russia, Mr. Botirjon Asadov, along with a distinguished delegation from Uzbekistan. The visit highlighted the growing academic collaboration between MRSU and universities in Uzbekistan, solidifying the university’s role as a key player in fostering international education and research.
Currently, MRSU is engaged in 11 active cooperation agreements with Uzbek institutions, including notable partners such as Andijan State University, Karakalpak State University, and Urgench State University. The university has developed a joint educational program in «Philology» with Andijan State University, focusing on the teaching of Russian as a foreign language. As part of this partnership, 8 students from Andijan are currently participating in an academic mobility program at MRSU.
The year 2024 saw Uzbek scholars take part in significant international scientific events organized by MRSU, further strengthening the academic exchange between the two countries. In addition, the university opened the Federal Center for Biotechnology and Medicine in January 2025, aiming to foster collaborative research with Uzbek institutions in the fields of biotechnology and medicine.
At present, 85 students from Uzbekistan are enrolled at MRSU, with the majority studying in the medical, economic, and law faculties. During his visit, Ambassador Asadov toured the campus and met with Uzbek students, discussing opportunities for further cooperation and mutual development.
This visit underscores MRSU’s ongoing commitment to enhancing global partnerships and providing students with unique academic experiences that transcend borders.
