Yasmine Zerrouk is a third-year student at the Institute of Geoinformation Technologies and Geography, fr om Algeria, the largest country in Africa.

In her interview with «Voice of Mordovian University» magazine, Yasmin explains how she learned about MRSU and why she chose to study in Mordovia: «I'm a big fan of adventure. I enjoy discovering new places and of course learning about different cultural traditions and customs. Mordovia is a Russian region with a vibrant, unique culture. As for the Institute, it fully corresponds to my interests — to receive a quality education related to the field of tourism».

Why did she choose tourism?

«Algeria is a country in North Africa, bordered to the southwest by Western Sahara; which occupies a large area of its territory but there are also stunningly beautiful mountains, forests, sea, and even a real miracle of nature, shrouded in incredible stories. Algeria is also the birthplace of the world famous fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. After graduation I will return home and I want to lunch my own travel agency to contribute to the tourist attractiveness of Algeria for foreign guests» Yasmine commented.

What about free time activities?

«I am actively studying Russian and my friends and teachers help me with this. Learning a new language in a country wh ere native speakers live is a unique opportunity for me. I also watch feature films, including Russian ones, about the history of different countries and people. This will be very useful to me as a future tourism specialist. I also like to walk around Saransk with friends. I especially like the city center, its architecture, historical sites and monuments» said Yasmine.
