On May 12, an inspiring online meeting brought together Chinese students who completed a one-year Russian language program at the Faculty of Philology with their peers from Jiangsu University of Science and Technology (China), who are currently studying Russian.
The event was jointly organized by the Department of Russian as a Foreign Language and O. S. Safonkina, Assistant to the Vice-Rector for International Affairs. During the session, students shared their personal journeys of immersing themselves in Russian language and culture. They proudly spoke about their academic successes—some already holding B2-level certificates in Russian as a Foreign Language (RFL)—and highlighted the vibrant student life at Ogarev Mordovia State University.
From participating in international scientific student conferences and Russian language Olympiads to cultural contests like «Mr. and Miss Philology,» «Student Spring» festivals, and unforgettable trips to places like Boldino and Kazan—not to mention tasting delicious Russian cuisine—the students enthusiastically shared their experiences in Russian, supported by vivid photo reports. We hope these stories will inspire their fellow students at Jiangsu University to continue pursuing the rich and rewarding path of studying the Russian language within the welcoming academic environment of our university.
