January 30, 2023 will go down in history as the day of launching another Regional Branch of the Russia-Chinese Friendship Association (RCFA). It is the 23rd regional branch of RCFA in the year 2023! Such is the magic of figures and it is a way-to-go sign. The regional Association should become facilitative of establishing cooperation between the Republic of Mordovia and China in economic, educational, scientific and cultural areas. The event was attended by the Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Kazan Xiang Bo, Head of the Republic of Mordovia Artem Zdunov, Rector of the University Dmitry Glushko, First Deputy Chairwoman of the ORKD Galina Kulikova and four other Deputy Chairmen of the RCFA.

Mordovia State University has been cooperating with universities of China for 10 years, including Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, Jiangsu University, Wuhan Textile University and quite a few of others — altogether, there are more than 10 partners. Since 2016, together with the Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, a joint master degree programme of dual diplomas in «Heat Power Engineering and Heat-process Engineering» has been successfully taught in English. Currently, there are 33 Chinese students pursuing studies at the University. The Chinese Language Centre was opened four years ago. There are a few joint projects with University biologists, heat engineers, philologists.

As part of the event, the day before a round table «Russian-Chinese relations today. Prospects for further development» was held at Mordovia State University. The parties discussed further prospects for cooperation in the economy and education. The participants paid special attention to the discussion of proposals for the development of economic relations between China and Mordovia. Before leaving the Republic the Consul General Xiang Bo will give a talk to the University students on the history, current state and prospects of development of Russian-Chinese relations.
